Maca Root in Stallion Power: Place 2 of 9 and What the Trials Say
Maca is a Peruvian root, and Stallion Power lists maca extract second in its 82 mg blend. Studies of maca for men are few and small, and they used gram doses. By our arithmetic from the label order, one gummy holds about 38 mg of maca extract at most, so those trials do not describe this gummy.

The root01
What is maca root, and why is it in Stallion Power?
Maca is a root vegetable from the high Andes of Peru, and Stallion Power lists "Maca Extract" as the second line of its blend. It is there because maca is sold for stamina and desire.
People in Peru have eaten the root for centuries, often as a flour or a drink. Supplement makers dry it, grind it and sell it as powder, capsules or extract.
Food use and supplement use are different things. A bowl of cooked root and a milligram-sized extract in a gummy are not the same dose of anything.

| Name on the label | Maca Extract |
|---|---|
| What it is | Lepidium meyenii, a Peruvian root |
| Where it appears | Place 2 of 9 in the 82 mg proprietary blend |
| Amount per gummy | Not listed; place 2 of 9, at most about 38 mg |
| Amount used in research | No standard dose; trials use grams |
| Strength of evidence | Limited: a few small trials, one in men with mild ED |
| Marketed or traditional use | Peruvian root sold for stamina and libido. Reviews call the evidence limited. |
| Main caution | Generally mild; the trials used gram amounts, far above a share of 82 mg. |
The evidence02
Does maca work for men?
The evidence is limited. Maca has a few small trials on sexual function, and reviewers call the record too thin for firm conclusions (MSKCC, Maca).
A 2010 systematic review found only four trials in all. The doses were in grams, and the authors judged the evidence limited (Shin 2010, maca systematic review). Memorial Sloan Kettering's summary says the same, and notes there is no standard dose (MSKCC, Maca).
One of those trials enrolled men with mild erectile dysfunction. Small trials can point a direction, but they cannot settle it. Nobody has run a trial of Stallion Power.
So the fair reading is this: maca is a plant with a hopeful but small research file. We do not claim it does anything for you.
Few trials, few men, short studies. Results may not repeat in a larger test, and they do not carry over to a different product.
Dose03
How much maca is in one Stallion Power gummy?
The label does not say. By our arithmetic, maca extract is at most about 38 mg per gummy.
The blend lists parts from most to least by weight (21 CFR 101.36 (proprietary blends)). Muira puama is first, so maca, in second place, cannot outweigh it. The two share at most 77 mg once the 5 mg of caffeine is set aside, so maca tops out near half of that: about 38 mg.
The studies used grams. A gram is 1,000 mg. Even at the ceiling, one gummy holds a few percent of a single gram of extract. The real figure is probably lower.
The ceiling is our arithmetic from the label order, not a lab test. The label's note of "approximately 567 mg of dry powders" describes the starting plant material, not the finished amounts.
Side by side04
How does maca in the gummy compare with maca in studies?
The gap is large: grams in trials against a few dozen milligrams at most in one gummy.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Place in the blend | 2 of 9 |
| Printed amount | Not printed |
| Ceiling per gummy | About 38 mg |
| Doses in trials | Grams a day, no standard dose (MSKCC, Maca) (Shin 2010, maca systematic review) |
| Number of trials by 2010 | Four (Shin 2010, maca systematic review) |

Is maca safe, and who should ask a doctor first?
Maca is generally mild in the trials, which used gram amounts (MSKCC, Maca). The gummy's real caution is not maca. It is the full blend.
The label asks anyone who is pregnant, nursing, taking medications or living with a medical condition to talk to a doctor first. It also says to stop and call a doctor if a reaction occurs.
Other blend lines, such as green tea extract and ashwagandha, carry rare liver reports (LiverTox, Ashwagandha) (NCCIH, Green Tea). Supplements can also change how medicines work (FDA, Mixing medications and supplements).
Do not skip or cut a prescribed dose because you started a supplement. Tell your care team what you take.
Our view06
Should maca decide whether you buy Stallion Power?
It should not. Maca is the best-documented of the first four lines, yet its research was done at doses this gummy cannot reach.
Compare it with its neighbors. Muira puama and catuaba have no human trial. Tribulus has trials at 400 to 750 mg a day (Vilar Neto 2025, tribulus review), and one gummy holds 5 mg or less.
If erections or desire worry you, a doctor can check for causes such as heart disease or diabetes (Mayo Clinic, Erectile dysfunction). That check matters more than any herb.
FAQ08
Maca root questions
What is maca root?
Maca is a root from the Peruvian Andes, eaten for centuries and sold as a supplement for stamina and desire. Stallion Power lists maca extract second in its 82 mg blend. Research on it is limited (MSKCC, Maca).
Does maca increase sex drive or erections?
The evidence is limited. A review found only four small trials by 2010, with gram doses (Shin 2010, maca systematic review). We make no claim that maca does this, and one gummy holds far less than those trials used.
How many milligrams of maca are in Stallion Power?
The label does not print it. By our arithmetic from the label order, maca extract is at most about 38 mg per gummy, probably less. It is a ceiling, not a lab result (21 CFR 101.36 (proprietary blends)).
What dose of maca did the studies use?
Trials used grams, and there is no standard dose (MSKCC, Maca) (Shin 2010, maca systematic review). A gram is 1,000 mg, so the research doses are many times above the 38 mg ceiling for one gummy.
Is maca safe with medicines?
Ask your doctor or pharmacist. Maca looks mild in trials (MSKCC, Maca), but supplements can change how medicines work (FDA, Mixing medications and supplements). Keep taking any prescribed medicine as directed.
Why is maca listed second on the Stallion Power label?
A proprietary blend lists ingredients from most to least by weight (21 CFR 101.36 (proprietary blends)). Maca comes second, so it weighs less than muira puama and at least as much as catuaba. Order shows weight, not effect.
Does maca extract in a gummy work as well as maca powder?
No study answers that. Trials tested specific maca products at gram doses (Shin 2010, maca systematic review). Results from one product do not carry over to another, and nobody has tested Stallion Power.
